GATC

  • Formed in 2009, Girish and the Chronicles is a Hard Rock/Melodic Rock/Heavy Metal band based out of Bengaluru. Originally from the state of Sikkim, India.
  • Arguably the best band in the country and known for their heavy overdriven guitars and high octane vocals, the band holds on to the sound of the 70's and 80's style of Hard Rock.
  • With initial releases like Angel, in the winter of 2009, followed by songs like "Loaded", "Golden Crown" and "Yesteryears" in their original roster.
  • Maaya PESU ECC 2019 presents to you an evening filled with excitement and hard rock nostalgia along with Girish And The Chronicles.

El Aura Fiesta ft. TREMENT & DAIWIK

  • Trement is an Indian based DJ/Music Producer who has performed at major festivals in different parts of India like Sunburn,Vh1 Supersonic, Enchanted Valley Carnival & many more.
  • Some of his track's are also played/supported by international & domestic artists & also few radio shows across the globe.
  • Daiwik is a versatile DJ/Producer being able to fit between styles and shred genre boundaries which has always created an ambience of taste, talent and celebration for all music lovers.
  • He has released his first original track "SENSATION" under Wolfrage records (Netherlands) in 2017 and has played alongside the best DJ's at various music festivals.

  • Maaya 2k19 proudly announces its association with the biggest festival of eastern India , Alcheringa, The Annual Cultural Fest of IIT Guwahati.
  • Amongst all the events of Maaya , top 3 fortunate teams of Maaya Idol ,Group Dance, Battle of Bands , Street Dance, Shake a Leg and Fashion Show will be coined as the winners of Banglore's city auditions of Alchering'2020 , and get an opportunity to represent themselves in the Pre-finals of Alcheringa.
  • The winning team will get 100% travel reimbursement.

Battle of Bands

A symphonic contest between bands that either let you drift into a trance or get you up on your feet with your headbanging. All in all, a string of super energetic performances that leaves you screaming “Encore, encore!”

Rules

  1. All bands from professional colleges are allowed regardless of age.
  2. Any changes need to be intimated to the event organisers a day beforehand.
  3. Professional conduct on stage must be ensured.
  4. Vulgarity in any form will not be entertained whatsoever.
  5. No individual can perform with more than one participating team.
  6. All bands must be present at the venue of the event atleast 30 mins prior to the event.
  7. Only registered band members can perform on stage.
  8. Slot picking will be be held before the event at the venue.
  9. Time limit: 12+2(inclusive of soundcheck).
  10. 5% of total marks will be deducted for each minute exceeded beyond the time limit.
  11. No pre-recorded sounds or loops allowed.
  12. Bring your own instruments, drum kit will be provided.
  13. If bands have any specific equipment requirements, it must be intimated to the event organisers a week beforehand.
  14. Original compositions are encouraged. Lyrics of the same if any, must be sent to the event organisers atleast a day beforehand.
  15. All genres and languages are entertained.
  16. Organisers will not be held responsible for loss of band equipment or possessions.
  17. Valid ID card is mandatory.
  18. Judges' as well as event organisers' decisions are final.
  19. Not adhering to any of the above regulations will lead to immediate disqualification of the team in concern.

Fashion Show

A magnificent expression of art in style leaving the audience mesmerized well back in the past and entranced in the future, all at once. It is the walk that leaves the crowd in awe of their creativity.

Rules

  1. No skimpy/indecent clothing allowed
  2. Emphasis will be given to apparel, portrayal of theme and originality
  3. Time limit - 8 minutes + 2 minutes
  4. Points will be reduced for exceeding time limit
  5. Soundtrack to be brought in a pen drive in .mp3 format only
  6. A mail containing the soundtrack must be sent to the organisers atleast one day prior to the event
  7. Number of members - 8 to 16 only

Group Dance

A captivating performance of synchronized feet that gets the audience grooving to the beat. Be it any genre of dance, it is sure to get you moonwalking in its charm!

Rules

  1. Style: Any dance form is allowed.
  2. No on-spot registrations.
  3. Team Size: 5-15 performers.
  4. Time limit: 4-6 min (+1 min setup time) this is not to be exceeded.
  5. Judging Criteria: Choreography, Energy, Synchronization, Stage utilization, Costumes, Innovation, Overall impact.
  6. Usage of props is allowed. These have to be brought by the teams themselves but does not carry any extra marks. (No dangerous props of any kind of fluid or flame)
  7. No solo performance is allowed at any point of time.
  8. Live music is not allowed.
  9. Pre-recorded music should be sent as a mail and brought in a pen drive in .mp3 format only.
  10. Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
  11. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
  12. Each team has to report to the event organiser at least an hour prior to the

Acapella / Western Acoustics

Sung with an instrumental accompaniment, this event brings out the Pentatonix in you. An event that is sure to get your feet tapping and head swaying, leaving you with a golly perspective of a familiar tune.

Rules

  1. For Acapella: 12 participants/team For Acoustic: 8 participants/team
  2. Each team has 2+8 minutes exceeding which will bring down 5% of the score per minute.
  3. Participating teams must declare themselves as either Acoustic or Acapella prior to the event.
  4. Only acoustic instruments and electric bass are allowed. Keyboard to be used only in grand piano mode.
  5. Teams are not allowed to use any backing tracks or pre-recorded sounds or loops.
  6. Teams must maintain a professional conduct.
  7. No participant can be a part of 2 different teams for the same event.
  8. Teams will be judged on the basis of: creativity, harmony, pitch, sync, stage presence, group dynamics.
  9. Original Compositions are encouraged.
  10. Lyrics of the Original Composition need to be sent to the event organizers at least 2 days prior to the competiton via email.
  11. Specific requirements must be informed to the event organizers well beforehand the day of the event.
  12. The decisions made by the judge will be final.
  13. All participating teams need to assemble at least 30 minutes prior to the venue of the event.
  14. Please make sure that each team member has an ID card.
  15. Team(s) that fail to meet these rules will be disqualified immediately.
